HDC Information

The Chaska Chanhassen Hockey Association (CCHA) is pleased to announce organizational enhancements in support of the CCHA’s Mission of fostering skill development for all CCHA players.  The organizational enhancements reaffirm CCHA’s commitment to player development, and the changes are effective immediately based upon the CCHA Board of Directors approval in June. Specifically, a committee of comprised of existing Hockey Development Committee (HDC) members and CCHA board members expressly narrowed the focus of the hockey development function to four areas and have authorized boys and girls specific oversight as more fully explained below. Additionally, feedback was gathered from other community hockey members in reviewing and recommending changes.  

The four (4) areas of focus for the hockey development functions are: 1) skill development, 2) coach selection, 3) ongoing oversight of coaching development, and 4) management of the tryout process. These areas of developmental focus will be implemented by two CCHA Board of Directors approved committees – the Boys Hockey Development Committee (“BHDC”) and the Girls Hockey Development Committee (“GHDC”). The GHDC and BHDC are charged with executing the four (4) areas of focus identified above. These committees will work directly with the CCHA Board of Directors and the public community high school hockey programs in assuring streamlined decision making, prioritizing strategies for year-over-year improvement, and delivering a consistent, development focused program for all CCHA athletes.
