CCHA Participation Rule and Waiver Requirements

All players that live outside of Easter Carver County School District 112 and open enroll into School District 112 need a waiver to play for CCHA. Contact your home association to start the waiver process.

If your residence is located outside of School District 112 and you open enroll into School District 112 you may be subject to level restrictions per Minnesota Hockey rules. Please see the CCHA Operating Policy Handbook for specific information regarding waivers into CCHA. Contact your Home Association's Registrar for more information. 

If you live in School District 112 and are waiving out of CCHA, contact the CCHA Registrar at registrar@cchockey.org to start the waiver process.

If you are not a United States citizen, then you will need to complete a Youth Player Transfer form in accordance with USA Hockey rules prior to playing a regular season game. A Youth Player Transfer form is required prior to every season. For more information and the form please go to the USA Hockey website under Youth Transfer Forms. The forms are submitted and completed through USA Hockey. 

 

Minnesota Hockey (MH) Participation Policy

The excerpt from the  recent change to the MN Hockey Participation Policy is as follows:


IV. Participation

3. With the exception of Junior Gold and 19U Players, prior to a player’s first year of Squirts or 10U a Mandatory Waiver shall be granted to any player in good standing other than a Mite or 8U and under, without conditions except as described below, who wishes to participate in the MH association whose boundaries incorporate the school in which the player is enrolled and is attending, as follows:

b. Players waived based on school choice shall be deemed to be members of their Association of School Attendance and shall have full rights and privileges accorded to all members of that association, including voting rights. (Exception – see "Changing Schools" below.)

c. Players receiving a waiver based on school attendance shall register with their Association of School Attendance for as long as they continue to attend that school (including the first year). If they stop attending school in that association's area, they revert back to their Association of Residence for participation or waiver.

d. If a player has obtained a waiver based on this section, they shall be allowed to continue to play with their Association of School Attendance. If a player has not obtained a waiver based on school attendance prior to being eligible for Squirts or 10U, they may only play outside of their Association of Residence by obtaining a discretionary waiver.

e. Any player granted a school-based waiver prior to the changes adopted by MH at the January 2024 meeting will be allowed to continue to play in the association of school attendance where the player attended at the time of receipt of the waiver.

District 6 Player Waiver Request

This form is not a player waiver. This form is a request for a player waiver and is the first step in a three-step process. 

Step 1

Complete information listed above and email this request to RELEASING Association Registrar. Upon agreement, RELEASING association Registrar will complete a formal MN Hockey player waiver and return it to requesting parent for signature. Once signed, Registrar will obtain signature from RELEASING association President.

Step 2

RELEASING association Registrar will email executed formal player waiver to ACCEPTING association Registrar who will obtain approval and ACCEPTING association President signature. 

Step 3

Upon completion, ACCEPTING association will email completed waiver to DISTRICT 6 official for approval and signature. Upon final completion, ACCEPTING association is responsible for emailing official player waiver to all parties. 

THIS REQUEST IS NOT A GUARANTEE FOR PLAYER WAIVER. ALL THREE STEPS MUST BE APPROVED AND EXECUTED FOR PLAYER WAIVER TO BE CONSIDERED VALID.
