STORMHAWK AWARDS

What is the "Stormhawks Academic Award"?
Chaska Chanhassen Hockey Association strongly believes it is important to recognize the academic accomplishments of our student-athletes. We feel we have the responsibility as well as the opportunity to encourage our athletes to set and achieve academic goals and earn recognition for their accomplishments.
This event celebrates academic success, and your child will be recognized on stage alongside their teammates who have also achieved this award. We will hear from a few special guests. A highlight throughout the event is a live raffle drawing for prizes ranging from gift cards, gift baskets, hockey training equipment and sticks.
Who is eligible?
All CCHA players at the Squirt/10U, PeeWee/12U, Bantam/15U, and Jr Gold levels, who maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale(B average or ML average for Elementary School students) qualify for the event.
Below are guidelines on how to verify a student's grades:
- 1st semester report card for schools on semesters ( including Middle and High schools in District 112)
- 1st trimester for schools on trimesters (including Elementary schools in District 112). Since the 2nd trimester ends after registration closes, if you would like consideration of grades after the 1st trimester report card, you may also submit copies of current grades along with the report card.
- For other grading timeframes, please provide the recent report card showing qualifying grades during the hockey season.
- If you need assistance accessing your student's report card, please contact the school.
- We are happy to consider other learning environments, such as home schooling or alternative grading periods with written confirmation of academic success from a parent or teacher.
For questions regarding report cards, please contact stormhawkreportcards@cchockey.org
What is the application process?
If your child(ren) qualify as outlined above, please complete the registration process for each child (you must do separately for each child).
Tips for successful submission:
- You will be asked to attach a copy of report cards so please make sure to have those available before beginning the registration. Completing registration in one session without starting and stopping will help avoid timing out and submission issues.
- Please verify and double check your email address entered during registration as an incorrect email can result in issues with your registration.
- Registration will close on Feb 28 allowing time to prepare for the event. SUBMIT YOUR REGISTRATION(S) NO LATER THAN FEB 28 at midnight.
IMPORTANT: The submission of the registration starts the grade verification process (all submitted grades will be verified to make sure they meet qualifications). Please note steps below that occur after submitting your registration(s):
- After registering, you will receive an online confirmation page from Sportsengine thanking you for registering. It is advisable to capture this in a photo or screenshot so you can refer back to this if needed. If you do not receive this confirmation immediately, your registration did not go through and you will need to resubmit. Completing the registration process in one session will avoid most issues.
- Within an hour of registering, you should also receive a confirmation email to the address entered in the registration. If you do not receive an email, please contact stormhawkreportcards@cchockey.org and send a copy of the screenshot of the confirmation screen as noted in #1 above.
- From Mar 1-Mar 9, all registrations will be verified to make sure grades meet the qualification guidelines. This process will be completed by Mar 9 and you will receive an email from the StormHawk Report Card coordinator with final confirmation and instructions for the event. If you do not receive this email from Stormhawk Report Card Coordinator by Mar 9,please contact stormhawkreportcards@cchockey.org.
